Introduction.

In Spring 2024, UK expat Scott came to us with an exciting new venture: a pop-up sandwich shop hidden in the backstreets of Barcelona. Frustrated by the lack of proper sandwiches in the city, Scott wanted to bring a taste of a proper British sandwich to residents and tourists alike. With a quirky location off the beaten track, it was clear that creating a standout brand and digital presence would be essential to turning Charlie’s Sandwich Shop into a culinary destination.

We embraced the challenge and created a brand from scratch that captured the heart and soul of Scott’s vision: a proper sandwich shop with bold character and charm.

The process.

Without any existing brand presence or digital footprint, the challenge was clear: create an identity that would attract both locals and tourists, making Charlie’s a destination worth seeking out. With its off-the-beaten-path location, the shop needed a bold, memorable brand and a highly visible digital presence to drive footfall and establish a loyal customer base from day one.

Branding from the ground up.

From colours and typography to the mascot and logo, we crafted a brand that reflected the hearty and playful spirit of Charlie’s. Every detail, from menu designs to napkins and signage, was created to ooze personality and emphasise quality and freshness.

Website design and local SEO.

We developed a fully bilingual website to cater to a diverse audience of locals and tourists. With sharp local SEO optimisation, we ensured Charlie’s was visible in all the right places – so even those strolling the backstreets couldn’t resist finding their way to the shop.

Consistent customer journey.

The brand extended seamlessly from digital to in-store. The playful character we created for Charlie’s, along with bold visuals and an engaging tone of voice, carried through to every touchpoint, creating an unforgettable experience for customers.

Charlie’s Sandwich Shop was an instant hit. Within weeks:

Although Charlie’s has since closed due to personal reasons, the brand’s legacy lives on. With plans to potentially relaunch in the future, we’re excited to see the next chapter of Charlie’s unfold.
